The dentist as a member of the health workers group is constantly in risk of being contaminated with virus and bacterias that are highly contagious and they, could be fatal in some cases. In these days, our patients are well informed about the possibilities of contaminating themselves at dental offices if they do not follow the proper infection control procedures. The porpouse of this study is to review the proper infection control procedures giving special emphasis in the prevention of transmission of infectious diseases using the correct sterilization and desinfection methods for the instruments and the whole environment. Everything we do to protect our patients and ourselves will give us a successful practice. Also that will permit us be more reliable for our patients.
